West Central Railway Zonal, DRM Office, Training Centers, Depot will remain closed till 14 April

Due to the Coronavirus Outbreak (COVID-19), all Zonal, DRM Office, Training Centers, Depot, will remain closed till 14 April during the lockdown implemented in India.

In this regard, General Secretary of West Central Railway Employees Union (WCREU) Mukesh Galav said that till now, the WCR administration had not given any clear guidelines in this matter, due to which there was confusion among the employees.
According to the order of the Railway Board in this regard, the WCR General Manager Shailendra Kumar Singh said that in addition to the three railway divisions, Jabalpur, Bhopal and Kota, Bhopal and Kota Workshop, WCR Headquarters, Training Centers, Depot will remain closed till April 14.

The letter has been clarified by WCR CPO (Admin) Rashmi Diwakar on Tuesday, 31 March, to all PHODs, DRM Office, Chief Workshop Manager only emergency services will be operational till 14 April, all remaining services will be closed.

Freight Trains running like Superfast as Passenger Trains Service Suspended due to Coronavirus

Goods Trains running like Superfast as Passenger Trains Service Suspended till 14 April due to wake of Coronavirus. Go green Signal for Freight trains because not a single passenger trains is running on track. Due to this, Goods trains no longer have to stand at station to reach the destination. Freight train is easily completing the journey from Moradabad to Ghaziabad in three hours. Operation of passenger trains in Moradabad Division has been suspended till 14 April.

More than 250 trains run daily from the Divisional Headquarter. But earlier where Goods trains used to wait at station for hours, but now the situation has changed.  All Goods trains are running at Superfast Train Speed. The driver and guard is also happy with this.
Thermal Screening before going to duty. Due to pandemic of Coronavirus, medical examination of railway personnel being done who coming and going on duty. The team of the railway hospital is testing every driver and guard outside the lobby. Help desk has been created for this.

Railway Staff carrying goods or empty rakes are being tested. Station Superintendent SS Asthana and Master Mahendra Kumar are also keeping an eye on the visitors. On Thursday, there was a thermal screening of the Guard Mahesh Kumar and the Driver operating the empty rake of Jan Nayak Express. Only after being found fit, he was sent to duty.

Indian Railways: Trains will not run till March 31 in Jharkhand due to Coronavirus outbreak

In view of Coronavirus, the Railways has cancelled 34 trains originating from Ranchi Division of South Eastern Railway on Sunday. Trains originating from Ranchi will not be operational in view of Janta Curfew. All trains were to originate from Hatia and Ranchi Railway Station.

In view of Coronavirus outbreak, the railways have suspended all trains service till 31 March. The Chairman of the Railway Board has given the authorized information in this regard to Chief Secretary of Jharkhand.

In a letter to Jharkhand Chief Secretary DK Tiwari, General Manager of South Eastern Railway SK Mohanty has written that Indian Railways has stopped operations of all Mail/Express and passenger trains in view of the rising infection of Coronavirus.

28 Express and 143 MEMU trains running in SECR have been cancelled due to COVID-19

On Sunday, 28 Express and 143 MEMU trains passing & running in South East Central Railway have been cancelled in view of Janta Curfew due to Coronavirus. In such a situation, tickets of about 1.5 lakh passengers have been cancelled. Railways have also issued guidelines to refund their amount. Mail/Express trains which is cancelled – Bilaspur-MGR Chennai Central Weekly Express, Durg-Bhopal Amarkantak, Gevra Road-Itwari Shivnath Express, Itwari-Bilaspur InterCity Express, Durg-Kanpur Betwa Express, Durg-Ajmer Weekly Express, Bilaspur-Indore Narmada Express.

Gevra Road-Amritsar Chhattisgarh Express, Durg-Ambikapur Express, Bilaspur-Rewa Express, Korba-Raipur Hasdeo Express, Durg-Firozpur Cannt. Antyodaya Express, Gondia-Kolhapur Maharashtra Express, Ambikapur-Jabalpur InterCity Express, Gondia-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Vidarbha Express, Korba-Yesvantpur Wainganga Express, Durg-Rajendra Nagar Terminal South Bihar Express, Chhindwara-Delhi-Sarai Rohila Patalkot Express, Durg-Chhapra Sarnath Express, Gondia-Barauni Express, Durg-Puri InterCity Express, Korba-Visakhapatnam Link Express, Gondia-Raigarh-Gondia Jan Shatabdi Express.
Refund period of trains cancelled between March 21 to April 15 extended. Emphasis on adoption of online refund process to stop congestion at counters.

Railways have extended the refund period to stop congestion at ticket counters for refund of cancelled trains in view of prevention of Coronavirus. Refunds will be given for trains cancelled between March 21 to April 15.

These are the main guidelines issued by railways.

1. Refunds on all e-tickets will continue as per previous rules.

2. The counter refunds on tickets for cancelled trains between March 21 to April 15 will be extended for 45 days to the date of travel from 3 hours to 72 hours.

3. If train is not cancelled, but if the passenger does not want to travel, as per rules, the duration of TDR has also been changed to 30 days instead of three days.

4. Passengers who refund tickets on 139 will be able to get the refund from the ticket counter within 30 days of the journey date.

Jan Shatabdi Express will remain cancelled from 20 to 31 March due to COVID-19 outbreak

Due to Coronavirus outbreak in India, the number of passengers travelling in trains continuously decreasing. Due to this, many trains being cancelled. On Thursday, 12061/Jan Shatabdi Express running between HabibGanj to Jabalpur has been cancelled. This train will remain cancelled from March 20 to March 31. Railway officials said that even 10% of the available seats in the Jan Shatabdi Express were not getting booked. For this reason the train has been cancelled.
Indore-Varanasi-Indore IRCTC Mahakal Humsafar Express will be remain cancelled

The Indore-Varanasi-Indore IRCTC Mahakal Humsafar Express was cancelled due to less number of passengers travelling in trains due to the effect of Coronavirus outbreak. This train will be remain cancelled in both directions from 20 to 31 March.

Narmada Express timetable changed

For the convenience of the passengers, the timetable of 18233/Indore-Bilaspur Narmada Express is being changed between Sant Hirdaram Nagar to Hoshangabad Station. The new timetable will be effective from 1 July. In return, this train will arrive Sant Hirdaram Nagar at 22:50 PM instead of 22:58 PM, Bhopal at 23:10 PM instead of 23:20 PM and HabibGanj Station at 23:28 PM instead of 23:53 PM.

Four pairs of trains had been cancelled by Western Railway Ratlam Division due to less number of passengers travelling in trains due to Coronavirus Outbreak. Train Number 19316/Indore-Lingampalli Humsafar Express has been cancelled from 21 March to 28 March. Apart from this, Train Number 19315/Lingampalli-Indore Humsafar Express will remain cancelled from 22 March to 26 March. IRCTC has cancelled the Kashi Mahakal Humsafar Express till 1 April. This train will not leave from Indore on Thursday. IRCTC has cancelled Train Number 82401/02 and 82403/04 from March 19 to April 1. The Railways will refund amount to passengers on cancellation of ticket.
Many passengers are cancelling travel ticket due to Coronavirus. Many trains also being cancelled due to less numbers of passengers travelling in trains. Due to this, the number of people who cancelled tickets at the railway reservation counter of Indore increased suddenly. According to Western Railway officials, 60-70% of the passengers come to cancel tickets in normal days. At the reservation center, first biometric fingerprints were given tokens to the passengers, but this system was discontinued due to Coronavirus. Due to this, passengers have to stand in long queues to get their tickets cancelled. On Wednesday, only four counters were opened at the reservation center in Indore. According to Western Railway DRM Vineet Gupta, they will soon arrange a manually token system at the reservation center.

According to DRM Vineet Gupta, the officers of the Indore district administration had demanded a room for screening Corona infected passengers at railway station. Railway have prepared a room on the platform of Indore for this, district administration and health department officials can start screening there at any time, said DRM Vineet Gupta.

Indian Railways: Rail Operations will be stopped during Janta Curfew, 3700 trains will not run

Due to Coronavirus outbreak, rail operations in the country will be stopped from Saturday night to Sunday night. In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi call for 'Janta Curfew', the Ministry of Railways has decided to stop rail operations completely in the country between 12:00 AM on Saturday to 10:00 PM Sunday. During this time, the trains already running will be stopped at the way stations and passengers will be take rest in the waiting rooms. Not only this, the operation of local trains in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi will be also limited. This is the first time that such a large number of train operations have been stopped.

According to the directions issued by the Ministry of Railways to all General Managers, during the said period of March 21-22, No Zone will operate any train. This means that 2400 Passenger trains and 1300 Mail/Express trains will run not across the country. Bookings made for these trains will be deemed cancelled and money will be refunded to passengers.
Catering Units, Food Plazas, Refreshment Rooms, Jan Aahar, Shell Kitchen and other shops in railway stations will be open till 22 March at 10 PM to provide food and water bottles to passengers. After that all shops will be closed. Catering services will also not generally be available on Mail/Express trains. On demand, only tea, coffee and packaged items will be allowed to be sold.

At the same time, railways cancelled 90 trains running between 20 to 31 March, in view of the low patronization and Coronavirus epidemic. Along with this, the number of cancelled trains has increased to 245. Earlier on Thursday, the Railways had cancelled 84 trains saying that 155 trains had been cancelled due to Coronavirus.
