Train 18 named as 'Vande Bharat Express' Fastest Train of Indian Railways

The new semi-high speed train which is developed in the country 'Train-18' will be named as 'Vande Bharat Express'. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced this on Sunday. There is no separate engine in Train 18, which means it's engineless train. The train has 16 passenger cars, with a seating capacity of 1,128 passengers. Two of the center compartments are first class compartments that seat 52 each, with the rest being coach compartments seating 78 each. The train will run between Delhi - Varanasi route. Its maximum speed is 180km/h, but operating speed is 160km/h. Railway Minister Goyal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon flag off it. The Train-18 has been designed and built by Integral Coach Factory, Chennai under the Indian government's Make in India initiative over a span of 18 months. It is said that it's the successor of old Shatabdi Express, which was developed 30 years ago.
The coach of this train being made under Make in India will be prepared more quickly now. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said after designing and preparing theactual train in just 18 months the successful trials are big achievement. Such 30 trains have to be prepared in upcoming years. First of all these trains will be operated in the country. In view of this, the Prime Minister also said to speed up the production work. The unit cost of the first rake was given as ₹100 crore(US$14 million).
Piyush Goyal also said that the common people suggested many names but we decided to name it 'Vande Bharat Express'. "This is a gift for people after the occasion of Republic Day. We will request the Prime Minister to give a green signal to it soon."
