Bottle Crusher Machine Installed at Saharsa Junction Railway Station to Promote Mega Plastic Ban Campaign

Indian Railways to ban ‘single-use’ plastic with nationwide campaign! In a first, a plastic bottle crushing machine has been installed at Saharsa Junction, as part of the initiative towards eliminating plastic across the Indian Railways network. This scheme is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat’ initiative.

A bottle crusher machine has been installed at Saharsa station on Thursday.  In which, put the used bottle in that machine, instead of throwing here and there. The machine will crush that bottle. DMO Dr Anil Kumar, AME Durgesh Kumar Singh, DSI Rajesh Ranjan Srivastava, SS Neeraj Chandra, Deputy SS Arun Kumar and CHI Pushpak Kumar inagurated this by putting used bottle in the crusher machine.
The machine can crush as many as 3,000 PET bottles in one day. The machine will also enable the recycling of 90 per cent PET waste plastic bottles ranging from 200 ml-2.5 litres in size.

The AME said that instead of throwing
bottle here and there put it in the bottle crusher machine. The machine will crumble the bottle into pieces. It will be given to a company and other necessary products will be prepared from it. This step is also very useful in environment. Let us tell you that this machine has been installed on Platform No. 1 at Saharsa Junction. There was a large crowd of passengers to see the machine operational. ENHM Rajiv Kumar Singh said that before Saharsa Jn, bottle crusher machines have also been installed in Samastipur, Darbhanga and Jaynagar.
