This will allow passengers to watch favourite movies, TV serials and cartoons on the go. The device will be installed soon in trains. Danapur Railway Division has decided to start this facility in Patna - New Delhi Rajdhani Express and Sampoorna Kranti.
A Video on demand (VOD) device will be installed in every coach of all Superfast/Express trains of this division. 12 thousand videos and entertainment programs including 7 thousand new old movies will be uploaded in this device. During the journey, passengers will be able to watch free videos on their mobiles and laptops through WiFi. For this they will not require any internet signal. The special thing will be that passengers will be able to check social media and email even while the video is playing. A coach of the train will have the facility of uploading for 90 passengers. Higher than this, picture quality and uploading speed may decline.  Feedback will also be taken from time to time to improve this service.
7 thousand hours of programs can be uploaded in the Video on Demand Box. Programs for children, cultural heritage, historical heritage, history, geography, social awareness, religious cinema, bhajans, aarti videos and games will be available. Information will also be known about the program being run by the railways. In the beginning this facility will be for 5 years, based on the feedback received from the passengers in future it will be extended. The program will change every month in the device. Older films and videos will be also removed. Currently, an organization associated with the film industry will operate it. The agency will be selected within a few days by tendering. In order to provide free service to the passengers, the agency will charge its expenses by showing advertisements in the middle of the program.
