Rapid Train in India to be Introduced on Delhi - Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System

The speed and facilities of the upcoming rapid train which will run from Delhi to Meerut under the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) will beat India's First Semi High Speed Train Tejas Express. This 7 to 8 coacher train will have a business class. The speed of the train under RRTS Project will be 160 kmph. According to the officials associated with its construction, the 82 km journey between Meerut to Delhi will be completed by this train in just 60 minutes. These trains will operate between Meerut, Ghaziabad and Delhi. RRTS will have 15 stations from Delhi to Meerut. These will have 12 stations in UP. There is a budget of  about ₹30000 crores for construction work.
According to company representatives, it is currently operating only in Japan. It took 11 years to build this track in Japan. While the construction of this track in India will take only six years. The speed of RRTS running in Japan is 130 kmph but it will run at a speed of 160 kmph in India. The RRTS stall became a center of attraction among all at the Urban Mobility India Conference and Expo held at IGP.

Construction between Meerut and Delhi is going in rapid action. It will begin operating by 2025. Work on other routes will also start after Delhi - Meerut. DPR is ready, work will start as soon as permission granted. Vinay Kumar Singh, MD RRTS said.

≈ All coaches will have staff to solve the problems of passengers, who will reach immediately by bell press.
≈ No one will be able to open the door on the way. Doors will open automatically.
≈ WiFi Internet facilities will be also available in the train.
≈ Apart from this, food and drink facilities will be available at stations.

Delhi - Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (Delhi - Meerut RRTS) is an 82 km long, under-construction, semi-high speed rail corridor connecting Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut. It is one of the three rapid-rail corridors planned under Phase-I of Regional Rapid Transport System (RRTS) project of National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). With maximum speed of 160 km/h (99.42 mph), the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in around 62 min (1.03 h). The project will cost ₹30,274 crore (US$4.4 billion) and is expected to start operations by 2025.
