Since the tracks belong to the Ministry of Railways, the operators have to pay the fare for running their own private trains on these tracks. Apart from this, private operators will have to pay to the Railways to avail flacilities ranging from house keeping staff to loco pilots, guards, maintenance staff. Railway officials are deliberating on every aspect of how far private operators will have access and where railway intervention will be there.

Private operators will run 150 trains, which will run on two major routes of the country. These routes areelhi to Howrah and Delhi to Mumbai. The Railway station of Lucknow -Kanpur Central falls on the Delhi-Howrah route. This will allow private trains to pass through here. This will provide relief to the passengers.
