Indian Railways to run 402 Special Trains on Holi to clear extra rush of passengers

Indian Railways has prepared to handle extra rush of passengers during Holi. Considering the number of passengers, railway is going to run 402 special trains in March, not only this, in view of festive season, the number of coaches in regular trains is being increased.

Indian Railways is operating special trains across the country on busiest routes like Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Chhapra, Delhi-Pune, Chandigarh-Gorakhpur, Mumbai-Varanasi, Mumbai-Patna, Mumbai-Udupi, Mumbai-Gaya, Mumbai-Barauni, Ahmedabad -Patna, Gandhidham-Bhagalpur, Howrah-Gorakhpur, Lucknow-  Kolkata, Ranchi-Patna, Secunderabad-Patna, Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Varanasi, Nangal Dam-Lucknow.
The number of RPF and GRP has been increased in view of heavy rush of passengers traveling in Unreserved Coaches. Additional RPF Jawans have been deployed at major stations to ensure passenger safety.

To ensure smooth running of trains, senior officers are being deployed on emergency duty at major stations. To remove any obstacle in the train service, personnel are being deployed in various sections on priority basis. Measures have been taken to continuously announce the Arrival/ Departure of trains along with the platform number.

Railways claim that a team of doctors is available for emergency at major stations.  Ambulance have also been arranged with the Para Medical Team.
